Baldur’s Gate 3: Felogir’s Fireworks
In Baldur’s Gate 3, “Felogir’s Fireworks” is a shop that is part of the quest “Suspicious Toys” (the clue is given by the trader Arfur Gregorio), but of course, you can also come here just for the fun of it.
Location
“Felogir’s Fireworks” is located in the Lower City to the south of the “Magic Supplies” store and next to the “Dump Shore” teleport. The place is accessible at any time.
Exploring “Felogir’s Fireworks” in Baldur’s Gate 3 will not be an easy task, as the shop is a multi-story building with a basement.
First Floor
To complete the quest “Explore Felogir’s Fireworks,” talk to the shopkeeper Avery Sonshal, who is behind the counter on the first floor and also harbors a tadpole in his head.
During the conversation, tell him the password given to you previously by Arfur Gregorio (“I’m from Uncle Felogir”). After this, Avery will allow you to go upstairs. The way up is located to the right of the main entrance behind an iron door. You can also trade with him, but the selection of goods is scarce—just some paint and a few explosive arrows.
Second Floor
On the second floor, approach the clerk Temara, who is also ready to sell you explosives but cannot let you go upstairs.
There are several ways to sneak upstairs and complete the quest “Explore Felogir’s Fireworks”:
-
Sneak unnoticed.
- Separate one character from the party.
- Use the “Invisibility” spell on them and go up the stairs.
- If a fight breaks out on the upper floors, you will be alone against the opponents.
-
Kill everyone on the 1st and 2nd floors.
- If you start a fight on the first and second floors, the Fists on the third and fourth floors will not interfere, but those standing outside will rush in.
- To prevent their interference, seal the door leading to the shop yard with the “Arcane Lock” spell. If you do not do this, ordinary passersby or a child from the shop, who will run outside to call the guards, may notice the fight.
In addition, try to swiftly eliminate the shopkeeper Avery Sonshal. With his spells, he can blow up all the fireworks and powder kegs in the building, which would result in the knockout of your entire party.
After winning the fight, you can collect the following rewards from Avery Sonshal’s body (worth mentioning):
- A sample of an illithid parasite.
- A key to Vault No. 5 in the Counting House.
- A basement key.
- A fireworks workshop key.
- A letter revealing Avery and Gortash’s connections.
Third Floor
Note that if someone spots you on the third floor, a battle will start, and all the guards below will come up unless they were previously killed.
Safe way to deal with the bandits:
You can efficiently eliminate Bane’s followers on the upper floors, but you need to have these spells:
- Fly
- Invisibility (can be replaced with a potion with a similar effect)
After this, separate the character who will blow up a barrel on the 3rd floor of the shop. You can use “Smoke Powder Arrow” or a massive fire spell for certainty.
Then do the following:
- Run to the nearby building—Filgrave’s Manor. The most convenient way to do this is from the side where the druid Karmvoks stands near the withered tree.
- Apply the “Fly” and “Invisibility” spells to the character who will make the explosion. If you do not use invisibility, the opponents upstairs will stir when they notice the character running around the roof.
- Enter turn-based mode.
- Climb the roofs up to the 3rd floor level.
Shoot the barrel standing near Bane’s Fist Volgu Drak. There will be a very strong explosion that will destroy almost everyone on this floor.
Finish off the remaining bandits to complete the quest.
Reward:
Besides completing the quest, you will receive several interesting items:
- The weapon “Devil’s Maul”—deals additional poison damage and can even poison the victim. Taken from the bodies of one of the guards on the 3rd floor.
- Installation Report—a document confirming the mining of Iron Jail on Gortash’s orders.
- Information that motivators for the Steel Watch were made here.
Roof
You can climb to the roof of the fireworks shop using “Fly”. If you pass a perception check, you will notice a plank under which there is a cache with useful loot:
Basement
On the first floor under the stairs, there is a hatch leading to the basement of the building. There are several ways to get inside:
- Use the basement key from “Felogir’s Fireworks” (taken from Avery Sonshal’s body).
- Pick the lock (difficulty—20).
In the basement, be careful as there is a tripwire between the firework crates, which will detonate them and deal significant damage to the party if triggered.
Near the far wall to the right of the locked chest, there is a stack of crates. Behind them is a lever embedded in the floor. Use it to see a wall moving to the right.
Do not rush into the secret room, as there is another tripwire there.
In the room are barrels of smoke powder. Blowing them up is pointless, but you can put them in the inventory of a strong character. The barrels might come in handy, for example, to kill a boss in a single turn.
