How to find Orin in Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3

Objective of the Third Act

The goal of the third act is to gather the remaining two Netherese stones held by Orin and Gortash. Finding Orin, who has hidden in the Temple of Bhaal deep beneath Baldur’s Gate, is the most challenging part.

You can reach her through two paths: the long way and the short way.

The Long Way

Begin the Murder Investigation

The quest that opens the path to the Temple of Bhaal and Orin herself begins after completing a murder investigation at the Open Hand Temple in Rivington. The investigation will lead you to “Fraygo’s Flophouse” at Wyrm’s Crossing.

Go up to the attic using the ladder in one of the bedrooms to find a hidden room behind a cabinet. Here, in the room under the bed, lies a corpse and on the table is a “Bloodstained Parchment” with a list of victims needed to enter the Tribunal of Murders.

The first essential condition to find Orin in Baldur’s Gate 3 is to provide the Tribunal with severed hands of the victims.

Collect the Hands

The next person of interest on the list is Cora Highberry, who is at the wine festival in the Lower City. After passing a Medicine check, you will realize that the wine in her glass is poisoned. Near her is the assassin, a dwarf named Dolor. If you uncover the assassin, a fight will ensue immediately, and Dolor may escape, leaving you to fight doppelgangers. From one of the doppelgangers, you can retrieve a note and a key to the Kendalhollow Tombstone Shop.

If Dolor escapes, look for him in the “Multiface Boutique” shop, whose owner is the next victim. From the corpse of the assassin, you can take a bloodied page with the password for the Tribunal of Murders, as well as a bag with the severed hands of previous victims.

Impress the Tribunal

The next crucial step to finding Orin is the Tribunal of Murders. In the Kendalhollow Tombstone Shop, in the farthest room, you will find a large painting “Butterfly on Skull.” Remove it to reveal a button. Pressing the button will move the cabinet against the opposite wall, uncovering a hidden door leading to the Tribunal of Murders.

You will need to say the password “Sicarius,” which can only be found on the note from Dolor’s body. Inside, you will face guards protecting the entrance to the Throne Room. In the dialogue, choose the response: “I killed to get here and took the hands of the victims.”

If you choose to play a virtuous character, you will have to fight them.

In the throne room, you will encounter Bhaalspawn Sarevok Anchev and three echoes. Sarevok will judge your characters to determine if they are worthy of reaching Orin. You must pass a check summoned by the spirit of a victim you killed. If you did not kill the victim, you will need to pass a Deception check (DC 20).

If Jaheria or Minsc, who are familiar with Sarevok from past games, are in your party, new dialogue options will appear:

  • Fight Sarevok.
  • Sacrifice your companions and kill them.
  • Make your characters kneel before the cultists (Intimidation check, DC 20).

If you reject the cult of Bhaal, take the amulet and the note with the location of the temple from Sarevok’s corpse. If you join the cultists, you will receive the information and the amulet as a reward.

Find the Temple of Bhaal

The entrance to the Temple of Bhaal, where finding Orin will no longer be difficult, is located underground in the sewers. The nearest rune circle is “Undercity Ruins.” To open the door, approach and select the option: “I have the Amulet of Bhaal. Let me pass, door.” Deep within the ruins in the temple, you will finally see Orin and the victim taken from your camp.

The Short Way

But you can also reach Orin in the temple without the Amulet of Bhaal. To do this, you need to spill blood on the floor in front of the stone door located near the “Undercity Ruins” teleport.

There are corpses hanging above the circle, from which you can draw blood with a ranged attack. After this happens, the stone door will open.

However, we do not recommend using this option, at least on your first playthrough, as it skips a significant portion of the story.
